AND CREDENTIALING PROGRAM

Saratoga County FDC training is a program of Saratoga County EOC 

Official FDC Trainers

  • Bonnie Potter, FDC, is a Family Development Specialist with the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council, and has worked with families for 19 years including working at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County and as a Family Advocate for Saratoga County Head Start.
  • Lillian McCarthy is the Director of Community Services with Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council and has worked with families for 13 years including work at CEO in Troy, NY and Equinox in Albany, NY.

Both are credentialed workers and certified trainers of the Family Development Curriculum through Cornell University and members in good standing of the Family Development Association of New York State.

When is the FDC course held?
Classes started September 2007 and run through the end of May 2008.

What does it cost?
Tuition for the course is $600, which includes 15 training sessions (plus a make-up/review session), materials, snacks, and field advisement. Discounts are available for multiple students from the same agency.

Upon completion of the course, an additional $250 fee is payable to Cornell University to sit for the credentialing exam required to receive the Family Development Credential.
