May Day Spring Fling

The Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council would like to invite you to the 21^st annual May Day Spring Fling, Wednesday May 12 at the Canfield Casino.

For over 36 years, the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council has provided assistance to low-income individuals and families throughout the county. The Board, staff and volunteers share a deep commitment to helping others move toward economic self-sufficiency through our programs which include various food programs, housing assistance, weatherization services, WIC, Head Start, and English as a Second Language.

With food and drink donated by Longfellows Restaurant, Hotel & Conference Center and The Olde Bryan Inn, May Day promises to be an especially fun-filled event and will include a seated dinner and a wine/beer open bar.  Add to that a spectacular live and silent auction organized by community volunteers, and you have a fundraising event that puts 88 cents of every dollar raised directly to programming! 

This year we will be honoring Stewart's Shops.  This local company has grown with our community and has made a positive impact in many ways.  As the quality of life in a community depends heavily on the quality of local businesses, Stewart's Shops' model of empowering their workforce in a manner that can positively impact their own future is not only successful, but laudable.  Committed to a better tomorrow, their community philanthropy efforts have greatly helped Saratoga County EOC carry out it mission in helping the low income of our community.  Additionally, the generosity of Stewart's Shops has had a lasting effect in many communities throughout our region and beyond.  It is our pleasure to honor these achievements.
